Jeppesen, a Boeing Company, recently signed a five-year service agreement with Russian air carrier UTair Airlines to provide digital air navigation information for the airline’s electronic flight bag (EFB) platform. Implementation of Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro on iPad will provide UTair flight crews with key flight and operation information.
“Use of FliteDeck Pro as a part of EFB solution will allow for reduction of pilot pre-flight preparation time and availability of all flight information at pilots’ fingertips,” said Andrey Sitnyansky, senior vice president and flight director of UTair. “By implementing new technological solutions we not only provide flight crews with digital tools in order to increase their efficiency, but also reduce their workload”.
Implementation of FliteDeck Pro will eliminate operational paper content from UTair aircraft, which improves fuel consumption based on weight reduction. FliteDeck Pro features real-time, data driven flight information for all phases of flight, and is displayed per the preferences of the pilot. FliteDeck Pro also significantly reduces pilot workload through automated processes.
“UTair airlines is one of the leading air carriers on the Russian market and we are proud to provide them with the tools to continue their digital transformation," said Dmitry Kolb, Jeppesen regional account director, Middle East, Russia, Central Asia and Africa. "Eliminating cumbersome paper based materials through use of Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro improves pilot workflow and optimizes operational efficiency by providing all essential flight information."
Jeppesen NavData is developed from a comprehensive aviation database, which is composed of more than one million records. To ensure air navigation accuracy, Jeppesen flight information analysts edit and verify approximately 150,000 database transactions generated from worldwide official aviation data source documents during every 28-day revision cycle.
